The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team finished fourth at the 2019 Big Ten Championships in University Park, Pa. with an overall team score of 196.425. Michigan won this year's title with a final score of 197.400. Illinois and Nebraska rounded out the top three.

Lexy Ramler became the 2019 B1G Beam Champion after posting a score of 9.925 for her routine. She is ranked No. 4 in the nation in this event with an RQS score of 9.940. In addition to her Beam Title, Ramler also earned a share of the 2019 B1G All-Around Title. She notched an all-around score of 39.600 to split the title with Michigan's Olivia Karas and Natalie Wojcik.

Earlier in the weekend, Minnesota was honored for their stellar performance throughout the 2019 season as Ramler was named Gymnast of the Year and Jenny Hansen was selected as the Coach of the Year at last night's banquet for the conference teams.Neither is new to such recognition as Ramler was chosen as the Freshman of the Year in 2018 and Hansen previously earned the Coach of the Year nod in 2016.

"I'm so honored to win B1G Gymnast of the Year, " said Ramler. "I'm so excited to be able to represent Minnesota in this way! Winning these awards feels awesome, but if feels even better knowing that I have an awesome team who have my back."

"It's an incredible honor to be named B1G Coach of the Year," added Hansen. "We have an incredible staff here at Minnesota and I feel very fortunate to work with them and this team everyday."

Ivy Lu and Paige Williams both finished second in their respective individual events, Lu with a 9.950 on the uneven bars and Williams with a 9.925 on floor exercise. Both gymnasts join Ramler on the B1G All-Championships team after tonight's performances.

The Gophers ended up in fourth place after a disappointing beam rotation. Minnesota was forced to count a missed routine and only combined for a team event score of 48.600. The Maroon and Gold balanced that rotation out by tallying a team score of 49.050 on vault, 49.350 on floor, and a 49.425 on bars. The 49.425 on the uneven bars breaks into the top-five team uneven bars event scores in program history.

"Tonight wasn't what we had hoped but there were a lot of positives," said Hansen. "Our team has a lot of fight in them, and I believe they will respond and come out of tonight even stronger."

Vault

Ramler and Loper earned matching scores of 9.850 for their Yurchenko one and a half vaults, leading the Gophers on this rotation. Paige Williams posted the next highest score for Minnesota, a 9.800. Freshmen Tiarre Sales and Ali Sonier each notched a 9.775 to bring the Maroon and Gold to a team vault score of 49.050.

Bars

Minnesota posted a whopping 49.425 team uneven bars score, their highest team event score of the night for the Gophers. The team was led by Ivy Lu who earned a 9.950 for her routine. Ramler was close behind with a 9.925. Sales saw the judges award her a 9.875, and Loper posted a 9.850. Hannah Willmarth rounded out the rotation with a 9.825 to give the Gophers such an impressive team event score.

Beam

Balance Beam was a spoiler event for the Gophers tonight as Minnesota was forced to count a fall in the team score. Soniers 9.275 counted alongside the 9.675 of Mary Korlin-Downs as well as Loper's 9.850. Sales added a 9.875 for the Maroon and Gold, and Ramler finished off the rotation with a 9.925 to give the Gophers a team beam score of 48.600.

Floor

Kaitlyn Higgins posted a strong leadoff score on floor as she contributed a 9.850 for the fourth straight week. Sonier and Selena Ung notched matching scores of 9.800 while Loper added another 9.875 for the Gophers. Ramler earned a 9.900 and the judges awarded Williams a 9.925 for her routine, bringing Minnesota to a team floor score of 49.350.

The Gophers will compete at NCAA Regionals on April 6. The team will find out to which competition site they are headed and against which team they will compete during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Mar. 25 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
