Amber Fiser Secures Big Ten Pitcher of the Week

Gopher softball's Amber Fiser has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season, it was announced Monday.
The junior pitcher tossed a pair of complete games victories in the first and final games of the series with 23 strikeouts while allowing only two earned runs on 12 hits. Fiser's Friday shutout featured 13 strikeouts, tying her career-high for the fourth time this season.
Fiser's victory on Sunday marked her 20th victory of the season as the Gophers swept Nebraska in Lincoln. With two more victories over a conference opponent, Fiser remains undefeated in Big Ten play.
Over the weekend Fiser notched her 200th strikeout of the season and for the season she now sits at 222 punchouts with a 1.37 ERA.
This marks Fiser's eighth of her career in Maroon and Gold. As a team, the Gophers have won a weekly award in eight consecutive weeks.
Fiser and the Gophers face Wisconsin for a doubleheader on April 24.
