Brandner Slugs Way to Big Ten Player of the Week

Hope Brandner is the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Monday. 

Brandner continued her torment of Big Ten pitchers this past weekend at Illinois. She had a 1.625 slugging percentage with a home run in each game and six RBIs. She launched an eighth inning go-ahead home run in game two of the series and opened game three with a home run in the first inning leading the Gophers to a five-run frame and a 10-3 victory. 

The sophomore finished the weekend 4-8 to go along with four walks for an on base percentage of .667 as the Gophers picked up another Big Ten series win. 

Brandner continues to power her way through Big Ten play with six home runs and 15 RBIs against conference foes. She has a 1.458 slugging percentage in nine conference games. She has 12 home runs on the season which is already in the Gophers top-10 for most in a single season.
