Schwartz Dominates in Shutout Victory Over Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – Sydney Schwartz was dealing on Friday, throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers past the Indiana Hoosiers 2-0 to open conference play. 

Schwartz (4-5) went the distance for Minnesota (8-13, 1-0), giving up two hits, walking none and striking out six.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers took the lead for good in the fifth, scoring for the first time in the inning. Schwartz put Minnesota on the board with a leadoff home run off Taylor Hess.

The Golden Gophers then tacked on a run in the seventh inning to complete their scoring in the ballgame. That run came across on an RBI single off the bat of Scarlett Kuhn.
