Bacon Takes Bronze in 3-meter, Qualifies for World Championships

INDIANAPOLIS—Sarah Bacon finished the women's 3-meter springboard final in third with a score of 307.90, earning her third medal of the 2019 USA Diving Senior National Championships and her first bronze of the meet.

The Indianapolis native closed out the competition with a cumulative score of 912.10 over the three rounds. As the diver with the second-highest cumulative score, Bacon has qualified to represent the United State in the 3-meter event at this summer's FINA World Championships. She will also be representing America in the 1-meter event at the competition in Gwangju, South Korea this July.

Fellow Minnesota diver Kristen Hayden dove her way to Friday's semifinals where she finished 15th with a score of 247.70. She totaled a two-round cumulative score of 495.35 through the prelims and semifinals.
