Brodzinski Named All-USA Boys Athlete of the Year

MINNEAPOLIS – The accolades continue to roll in for Gopher Hockey incoming freshman Bryce Brodzinski with USA Today naming the Pride on Ice forward the 2018-19 All-USA Boys Athlete of the Year this weekend.
A native of Blaine, Minn., Brodzinski collected 10,102 votes in the USA Today poll – more than 59 percent of the final tally. Earlier this year, he was tabbed as the outlet's All-USA Boys Hockey Player of the Year and a First Team All-USA Boys Hockey selection.
Brodzinski tallied 36 goals and 55 assists in his final prep season at Blaine High School. The forward and senior captain led the Bengals to a third-place finish at the MSHSL Class AA state tournament last season. Brodzinski closed out his prep career as the 35th recipient of the Mr. Hockey Award (given to the top senior boys high school player in the state of Minnesota) and the 24th Gopher Hockey prospect to earn the honor.
Last month, Brodzinski was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round (196th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
