Trio of 'U' Alums Ready for World Championships

MINNEAPOLIS -- A trio of University of Minnesota track & field All-American alums will be in action over the next 10 days at the 2019 IAAF World Championships, held September 27- October 6 in Doha, Qatar.
Long-time teammates Hassan Mead (5,000 meters) and Ben Blankenship (1,500 meters) will represent the United States at the event while world record holder Barbora Spotakova (javelin) will seek her fourth world championship in the discipline for the Czech Republic.

Women's Javelin Qualifying (Spotakova): 8:30 a.m. CT
Men's 5,000 Final (Mead): 1:20 p.m. CT

Women's Javelin Final (Spotakova): 1:20 p.m. CT
Thursday, Oct. 3
Men's 1,500 Heats (Blankenship): 2:00 p.m. CT
Friday, Oct. 4
Men's 1,500 Semifinals (Blankenship): 12:05 p.m. CT
Sunday, Oct. 6
Men's 1,500 Final (Blankenship): 11:40 am.m. CT
