Back at the Top
Sophomore heavyweight Gable Steveson is back at the top-spot in the major rankings after spending much of last season in that same spot. With the season-ending injury to Penn State's Anthony Cassar Steveson bumps up to the top of the heavyweight rankings when it comes to FloWrestling, Intermat, TrackWrestling, and many others.
The rankings now sets up an exciting No.1-No.2 matchup on Sunday against Michigan's Mason Parris. Parris was a gold medalist this summer at the 2019 Junior World Championships while Steveson has three gold medals in his trophy case from the cadet and junior levels.
Ranked Brothers
In their first, and final, year in the lineup, the McKee brothers are both rolling and earning praise nationally. Patrick and Mitch McKee are the only pair of brothers in the FloWrestling top-fifteen together with Mitch sitting in fifth and Pat sitting at 14th.
The duo has combined for a 33-7 this season with 13 combined pins and 21 total bonus point victories.
Next Up
The Gophers return to the friendly confines of Maturi Pavilion on January 26 for a Big Ten dual against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The season culminates across the river at US Bank Stadium for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
