Six Gophers to Represent USA

Six Gopher women's hockey alumnae have been named to the U.S. Women's National Team for the February Rivalry Series games with Canada.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Golden Gophers women's hockey alumnae have been named to the U.S. Women's National Team for the remaining three games of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series with Canada. Megan Bozek, Hannah Brandt, Dani Cameranesi, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek, and Lee Stecklein are among the players set to represent the Red, White, and Blue, USA Hockey has announced.
Along with the six players, Minnesota associate head coach Joel Johnson is an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's National Team in the Rivalry Series while Minnesota equipment manager Brent Proulx and Minnesota strength and conditioning coach Cal Dietz are also on staff for the U.S. team.
The Rivalry Series resumes on Monday, Feb. 3, in Victoria, British Columbia, with contests also set for Vancouver, B.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 8. All three games will face off at 5 p.m. CT. The U.S. will conduct a training camp in Irvine, Calif., from Jan. 29-31 in advance of the Rivalry Series games.
The U.S. won the opening two games of the Rivalry Series, including a 4-1 victory in Hartford, Conn., on Dec. 14 at XL Center and a 2-1 triumph in Moncton, N.B., on Dec. 17 at the Avenir Centre.
