Gophers Land Top-20 Rankings

The Minnesota women rank No. 9 while the Gopher men check in at No. 19 according to this week's USTFCCCA NCAA National Rating Index.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher women check in at No. 9 in the country while the Minnesota men climbed 10 places to No. 19 in the nation as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its week one NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index on Monday.

On the women's side, seven Gophers rank among the nation's top-35 individuals in six different events led by Nayoka Clunis, Tess Keyzers, Bethany Hasz, and Ayesha Champagnie landing national rankings in two events each. The Minnesota women have multiple athletes ranked in shot put, weight throw, pentathlon, and 5,000 meters, led by three individuals among the nation's top 18 in the shot put.

Meanwhile, the Gopher men have 10 individuals come in among the nation's top 35 in seven different events. Four individuals are among the top 35 in weight throw and along with two in the heptathlon. Ben Ose leads the way for the Maroon & Gold men, landing among the nation's best in both the heptathlon and pole vault.
