Gopher Baseball Announces 2020 CambriaCollegeClassic

MINNEAPOLIS – One of the nation's premier college baseball tournaments is set to return to U.S. Bank Stadium this upcoming season with a new title sponsor. Minnesota Baseball has officially announced a partnership with Cambria to host the 2020 CambriaCollegeClassic, taking place Feb. 28 to March 1.
Cambria is the leading American-made, family-owned producer of natural quartz surfaces and has long been an integral supporter of the University of Minnesota. Running through 2025, this partnership highlights Cambria's continued support of Gopher Athletics and the University of Minnesota.
"I'm very proud and honored to welcome Cambria as our title sponsor of the CambriaCollegeClassic in 2020, featuring some of the top Big Ten and ACC programs at U.S. Bank Stadium," said head coach John Anderson. "In our search for a new sponsorship, I could not have been more impressed with the professionalism and diligence that Cambria has shown. Throughout this process, they have gone above and beyond to make this event a success, both on and off the field.
"Their efforts and engagement to make this event special and attractive to our fans, opponents and student-athletes will serve as a true first-rate experience at a premier venue. Our goal is to grow the CambriaCollegeClassic into one of the premier college baseball events of the spring season, bringing the best of our sport together annually to promote the game of baseball in the state of Minnesota. From Feb. 28 to March 1, a collection of five Big Ten Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) programs will join Minnesota for the three-day, nine-game round-robin tournament: No. 15 Duke, Iowa, No. 16 NC State, No. 23 North Carolina, and Purdue.
"Cambria has been longtime supporters of the University and we're excited to partner with John Anderson and Gopher Baseball on this nationally recognized college tournament," said Andrea Thorne, EVP of Marketing for Cambria. "We look forward to creating a memorable experience for local baseball fans and those traveling from all over the country to see this exciting college matchup while enjoying the great state of Minnesota."
Each Big Ten team will play each ACC program once over the course of the event, resulting in a three-game schedule for every team in attendance. The winner of the tournament will be the team with the best overall record at the end of the three days, with head-to-head competition serving as the tiebreaker.
At the conclusion of the Classic's final game between NC State and Minnesota on March 1, a brief award ceremony will be held at home plate. Presented at the ceremony will be the all-new tournament championship trophy designed and handcrafted by Cambria, the all-tournament team, the tournament MVP and more.
Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Feb. 3 through the U.S. Bank Stadium Ticket Office and Ticketmaster. Daily tickets for all-day access to the full slate of CambriaCollegeClassic games are $10 per day. Full tournament packages are also available for $25.
Minnesota highly encourages fans to purchase tickets at the U.S. Bank Stadium Ticket Office on game day to avoid online fees.
