Minnesota Receives CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota swimming & diving program was handed a pair of honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Wednesday, as both the Gopher men's and women's teams received Scholar All-America status.

In order to qualify for CSCAA Scholar All-America honors, a program is required to produce a collective team grade point average above 3.0 for the Fall 2019 semester. Both Gopher programs managed to accomplish this feat in the classroom, with the women posting a 3.49 fall team GPA and the men registering a 3.29 GPA last semester.

As evidenced by Minnesota's accomplishments, some of the top teams in the classroom are also some of the best in the pool. Based off CSCAA's report, ninety percent of Division I and Division III's top-25 teams are represented as Scholar All-America programs.

For more information on the Scholar All-America teams and for a list of award recipients from all divisions, follow the link at the top of this page.

With new accolades in hand, the Gophers are set to return to competition this weekend when they take on Purdue and Northwestern in a Big Ten Conference tri-dual. The two-day meet will begin on Friday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. CT and resume on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 12 p.m. CT.
