Meet the Freshmen: Brady Spaeth

The "Meet the Freshmen" series continues on here at GopherSports, this time with Cadott, Wisconsin product Brady Spaeth. Spaeth compiled a 174-9 record in his high school career, becoming a four-time WIAA state placewinner, a three-time finalist, and a two-time champion. Spaeth's other accomplishments include being a Wisconsin national team member in 2018 and 2019, a USA Wrestling Folkstyle national finalist, and a Northern Plains champion in both international styles.

GopherSports: What made you choose the University of Minnesota?
Spaeth: I liked the environment of the team and the awesome facilities that the University of Minnesota has to offer.
 
GS: What makes you the most excited about being a Golden Gopher wrestler?
Spaeth: A lot of great wrestlers have come through this program, so I am excited by the opportunity to hopefully become the next Gopher great.
 
GS: How would you describe your wrestling style?
Spaeth: I would say that I am an explosive and powerful wrestler out on the mat.
 
GS: Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
Spaeth: I really enjoy hunting and fishing, and I also played football in high school.
 
GS: What is your planned major?
Spaeth: I am planning on becoming a marketing major.
