BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Minnesota sophomores Emma Carpenter and Grace Curran earned Top-10 finishes at the Golfweek Hoosier Amateur, which concluded Sunday afternoon on the Pfau Course at Indiana University.
Carpenter put together rounds of 75-74-76 and tied for fifth overall in the two-day, 54-hole tournament. The Dekalb, Ill. native recorded eight total birdies, including four in the second round on Saturday, to position herself towards the top of the leaderboard.
After carding rounds of 77 and 78 on Saturday, Grace Curran closed with a 78 on Sunday for a 10th place finish (233). A string of bogeys set Curran back in the second round, but she responded with a birdie on the 388-yard, par four second hole in round three. The native of New Lenox, Ill. notched nine pars on her way to jump from T-12 to the 10th spot in the final round.
This summer, Curran captured wins at the Golfweek Midwest Collegiate and Minnesota Golf Association Women's Match Play Championship.
