Join Gopher Women's Hockey in celebrating the program's season ticket holders.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher women's hockey team and head coach Brad Frost thank the program's season ticket holders for their ongoing support and loyalty to the Maroon & Gold. Join us in celebrating the best fans in college hockey, this week featuring Andrea Hjelm.
Name: Andrea Hjelm, Past President, University of Minnesota Alumni Association
Years as a Gopher Women's Hockey season ticket holder: Since 2015
Favorite current Gopher: I have watched Grace Zumwinkle since her high school days at Breck School, and I now sponsor her with my husband Ken providing a scholarship. She is "fast and furious" and quick to score.
Favorite game: Watching the Gophers play Wisconsin is an event I wouldn't miss. I realize there is a recruiting war between these adjacent states for the best hockey players and so watching them, knowing that they know one another well from their formative years is really fun. As for a favorite game, 2020 Hockey Day Minnesota; photo is taken from that day.
Favorite memory: My favorite Gopher memory is not related to on ice endeavors, as there is little skill lacking there, but rather meeting the outstanding young women like Rachel Ramsey, Lee Stecklein, and Gigi Marvin, who happen to also be outstanding citizens, as well as accomplished hockey players.
