Senior goaltender Lauren Bench is the WCHA Goaltender of the Week for the second-straight week.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Senior goaltender Lauren Bench has been selected as WCHA Goaltender of the Week following the Golden Gophers' road sweep over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth last weekend.

Bench has picked up her second-straight WCHA Goaltender of the Week award and eighth of her WCHA career after backstopping the Gophers to 4-2 and 2-1 wins over the Bulldogs. She made 26 saves on 28 shots faced in game one before recording 31 saves on 32 shots in game two. The Eagan, Minn., native led the WCHA with a 1.50 goals against average and ranked second among league netminders with a .950 save percentage. She was the only WCHA goaltender to post a perfect 2-0-0 record on the weekend. For the season, Bench's 1.26 goals against average ranks third in the nation and her .962 save percentage ranks fourth; she leads the WCHA in both categories.

The No. 3 Gophers return home to host top-ranked Wisconsin this week. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. CT Friday and 4:07 p.m. CT Saturday at Ridder Arena.
