O'Brien Named Minnesota's Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree

Holder has inspired millions with his gratitude and perseverance

University of Minnesota placeholder Casey O'Brien was named the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree today. 

O'Brien is a multiple-time cancer survivor and made headlines last season when he competed at Rutgers and at home against Maryland. O'Brien successfully held three times in both games while inspiring millions. 

His story of gratitude and perseverance was told extensively last season, and O'Brien received the Disney Spirit Award as college football's most inspirational figure.  

O'Brien was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2020, 2019 and 2018 and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2019-20 and 2018-19.
