• The Gophers fell to No. 15/14 Kentucky, 7-0, on the final day of the NFCA Div. 1 Leadoff Classic and drop to 3-2 on the season.
• Le Sueur, Minn. native Carlie Brandt went 2-4 on the afternoon.
• Buffalo, Minn. native Emily Hansen kept her hot streak going with her first career triple.
Kentucky moved to 4-0 on the afternoon with the victory over Minnesota. They jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second with a solo shot and wouldn't need another run. Amber Fiser got the start in the circle and drops to 2-2 with the loss. She went three innings with four strikeouts while allowing three hits and four runs.
Autumn Pease had a solid four inning showing in the circle. She struck out six while allowing five hits and three runs.
Kentucky stretched their lead to four in the third inning. They tacked on another run in the fifth and two more in the seventh.
The Gophers put on pressure in both the fourth and sixth innings but Kentucky was able to record double plays in both frames to get out with no harm.

"We did some good things this weekend and we have some things we need to work on," head coach Jamie Trachsel said. "We have a lot of new faces that haven't been in this environment. They haven't seen this level of competition. As we move forward we want to challenge the consistency of how we perform."
Noteable
MaKenna Partain was named to the NFCA Div. 1 Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team. She finished the weekend with a .389 batting average, three doubles, a triple, five RBIs, and drew four walks to finish with an on base percentage of .500.
