Gophers 10th After Two Rounds at Meadow Club

FAIRFAX, Calif. - Sophomore Karen Zhang tied her career-low round Monday, leading the way for the Minnesota women's golf team at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational after 36 holes of play.

Zhang opened play with an even-par 72 in the first round, and finished the day tied for 20th (72-77—149) at 5-over-par. Two shots back, freshman Emma Carpenter (79-72—151) matched Zhang for low round of the day by the Maroon and Gold as she is tied for 32nd.

Classmate Annabelle Ackroyd (77-75—152) is tied for 38th at 8-over-par, with junior Grace Kellar (76-77—153) and freshman Grace Curran (81-73—154) rounding out the lineup in ties for 45th and 47th place, respectively.

Gopher junior Jessica Lee (84-78—162) is in 69th place after two rounds as she is competing individually.

California's Katherine Zhu (71-69—140) holds the 36-hole lead while Washington State is atop the team leaderboard (293-289—582). Minnesota is in 10th place (304-297—601) at 25-over-par.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday, with an 8:30 a.m. PT shotgun start scheduled to open up the final round of play.
