DenHartog Earns Shortened Season All-American Honors

Softball America named Natalie DenHartog a First Team Shortened Season All-American.  DenHartog impressed Softball America in 25 games in the shortened 2020 season. She also landed No. 12 in their Top-100 power rankings and was named the top Big Ten Player of the season. 

The sophomore out of Hopkins, Minn. led Minnesota in most offensive categories including hits (33), RBIs (28), home runs (7), batting average (.429) and on-base percentage (.537). 

DenHartog finished first in the Big Ten in hits and RBIs and was second in home runs and total bases. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Week after a strong performance at the Auburn Tournament. she led the team with eight runs on the weekend. She smashed two home runs and brought in six runs. Two of those runs, including the game winner, came in a gritty win over Auburn on Friday night. She was a triple away from the cycle as the Gophers came back against Georgia Southern. To cap it off, Minnesota trailed against Binghamton on Sunday before a DenHartog home run started off the scoring in a run-rule victory. 

In 2019, DenHartog was named an NFCA Top-3 Freshman of the Year finalist. She was named First Team All-Big Ten and earned First Team All Great Lakes Region honors. 

Through two years, DenHartog is batting .390 with 99 hits including 22 doubles, two triples and 24 home runs. She has 92 RBIs, a slugging percentage of .776 and an on base percentage of .456. She has never committed an error in the outfield with 34 putouts and two assists. She has also stolen nine bases on the base path.
