Heslin Inks Pro Contract With ZFK Spartak Subotica

MINNEAPOLIS – Former Gopher Soccer midfielder Emily Heslin has signed a professional contract with ZFK Spartak Subotica of the Serbian SuperLiga, as announced by the team on Friday morning.
Heslin, who graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2018, was a three-year starter and two-time captain for the Gophers. Over 87 career games, Heslin made 66 starts and tallied six goals, five assists and 17 points. The Woodbury, Minn. native amassed 6,371 minutes during her time in Maroon & Gold.
As a senior in 2018, Heslin was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team. Heslin also excelled in the classroom at the U, earning Second Team Academic All-Region in 2018 in addition to being a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
With today's announcement, Heslin joins one of the Serbian SuperLiga's more successful teams. From 2011-19, ZFK Spartak Subotica won nine consecutive national championships.
