WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Minnesota sophomore Grace Curran earned her second victory of the summer, capturing the Golfweek Midwest Collegiate title on the fourth playoff hole Friday afternoon at Kampen Golf Course on the campus of Purdue University.
Curran, who finished the 54-hole tournament tied for first at 1-over par (76-72-69—217), made par on the fourth extra hole to claim top honors from Purdue's Jocelyn Bruch.
"I'm super excited - it was a battle all week and a field of great players so I'm really excited to get this win," Curran told Golfweek following the victory. "I have one more [tournament] this summer so I'm excited to push this momentum into next week."
Fellow Gopher sophomore and Illinois native Emma Carpenter placed sixth in the tournament at 10-over par (77-75-74—226).
Last month, Curran captured the Minnesota Golf Association Women's Match Play Championship in Prior Lake, again claiming victory in playoff fashion.
