Light Breaks Single-Game Tackle Record
Gophers linebacker Bill Light broke a school record with 29 tackles at Indiana, besting the previous mark of 25 set earlier in the season by teammate Wayne King against Michigan.Â
Light would go on to break his own record the following year, being credited with 32 tackles in the Gophers' 14-14 tie with Iowa during the 1970 season. He also set the season tackle record with 172 in 1970.Â
