Boreen Named WCHA Forward of the Week

Senior Abigail Boreen recorded a career high four points in the Gophers' series sweep over No. 3 Colgate.

MINNEAPOLIS – Senior forward Abigail Boreen has been selected as WCHA Forward of the Week following a career high four point weekend in the Golden Gophers' sweep over No. 3 Colgate.

Boreen earns her first WCHA Forward of the Week award after recording a goal and three assists in the Gophers' two road wins over the Raiders. On Friday, the senior scored a goal and an assist in the Maroon and Gold's 5-3 game one victory. On Saturday, Boreen assisted the Gophers final two goals in a 3-2 win. The Somerset, Wisc., native is on pace for a career year with three goals and six assists through eight games this season. This is the Gophers' second straight WCHA weekly award and first WCHA Forward of the Week award since Grace Zumwinkle took home the honors on Feb. 23, 2021. 

No. 3 Minnesota heads back on the road to face Bemidji State. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT Friday and 2:00 p.m. CT Saturday in Bemidji, Minn.
