Women's Basketball to have Six Games Nationally Broadcasted This Season

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota women's basketball team is scheduled to have six games aired on national television this season, the Big Ten Conference announced Tuesday. All six of the Golden Gophers' slate will be seen on the Big Ten Network.Â
In addition, the start times of the rest of Minnesota's home games have been confirmed. Check out the schedule page here for all of the tip times at Williams Arena this season.Â

The nation's first look at the 2021-22 Golden Gophers comes on Wed., Dec. 1, when Minnesota hosts North Carolina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at 8 p.m. CT on B1G Network.

Five of the six nationally broadcasted games will be broadcasted from Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The Big Ten Network is scheduled to carry Minnesota's Big Ten opener against Nebraska on Mon., Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. CT. The Gophers' New Year's Eve matchup with Northwestern will be broadcasted on B1G Network starting at 1 p.m. CT.

The first time fans can enjoy a nationally broadcast Gopher women's basketball team in 2022 will be when rival Iowa visits town on Thur., Jan. 20, with the tip set for 7 p.m. ET. Minnesota's final B1G Network broadcast from Minneapolis will be on Sun., Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. CT against Wisconsin.

The Gophers only matchup on the road this year that will be nationally broadcast will be against Penn State on Sun., Feb. 27, with the time to be determined with the matchup being slated as a 'wildcard' matchup that potentially will be on BTN+.

B1G Network and the University of Minnesota have also confirmed that it will carry all remaining home games on the BTN+ streaming service.

The 2021 Big Ten Tournament will be televised by the Big Ten Network through the semifinal round, while ESPN2 will carry the championship game on Sunday, March 6, with a time to be determined.

The 51st season for the Golden Gophers gets underway on Nov. 9, with a home contest against Jacksonville. Tipoff times and coverage for all other games will be announced at a later date. Fans can guarantee their seats to all of the team's home games by purchasing season tickets on GopherSports.com.
