Gophers Add Exhibition with Whitecaps

Minnesota will kick off 2022 with an exhibition game vs. the Minnesota Whitecaps on Jan. 4 at 7:00 pm at Ridder Arena.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's hockey team has added an exhibition game with the Minnesota Whitecaps. The Gophers will host the PHF opponent on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Ridder Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.
The teams will face off for the first time since a preseason exhibition on Sept. 22, 2019. The Gophers earned a 5-1 win over the defending Isobel Cup champions with goals from Taylor Heise, Grace Zumwinkle, Amy Potomak, and Sydney Shearen. The matchup will kick off the second half of the Gophers schedule before the very first WCHA series between the Gophers and St. Thomas on Jan. 8-9.
Maroon and Gold alumnae on the Whitecaps roster include Chelsey Brodt- Rosenthal, Winny Brodt-Brown, Alex Woken, Stephanie Anderson, Meghan Lorence, Nicole Schammel, Patti Marshall, Amanda Leveille, The exhibition will be free admission to fans.
