MINNEAPOLISÂ --Â Citing the health and safety of student-athletes, our fans and staff, the Minnesota women's basketball game on Friday, December 31, at Williams Arena will not be played due to COVID-19 protocols within the Northwestern program. Both programs are actively working with the Big Ten Conference to find a rescheduled date to play the game.
Â
Per the Conference office, information regarding how this game will be treated in relation to the Big Ten Conference 2021-22 Forfeiture Policy will be announced in the coming days.
Tickets for the game can be exchanged for any future Women's Basketball game in the 2021-22 season at Williams Arena. Individuals are encouraged to reach out to the Gopher Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-U-GOPHER or GopherSports@umn.edu.
Minnesota will ring in 2022 with a Jan. 6, matchup with Rutgers on the road. That game can be streamed on B1G+ and heard, as always, on KFAN+Â with Justin Gaard and Lynnette Sjoquist on the call.Â
