Against the Pitt Panthers, Willis added 15 points as one of two players in double digits. The win against Pitt marked Minnesota's first road win since Feb. 23, 2020. In Sunday's matinee against Mississippi State, Willis scored a team-high 24 points, including five points within the final 18 seconds to solidify the win. With the game tied at 76-76, Willis drained his fourth three of the game and eighth field goal when he hit a crucial three-pointer to put the Gophers up, 79-76. He followed by putting the game at two-possessions, sinking two free-throws for the 81-76 final. The back-to-back road wins were the first for the Gophers since 2017. It was also the first true road win against an SEC team since 1999.
