The University of Minnesota women's tennis team is excited to announce that Lucy Lu (Niwot High School, Colorado) will join the Gophers for the 2021-22 season.

Lu attended Niwot High School and is scheduled to graduate this spring. Lu is a 5-star recruit who is currently ranked at No. 81 in recruiting rankings. She is a two-time 4A state singles champion and was ranked #1 in Colorado for Girl's 18's and Under. In her freshman season, Lu helped Niwot win their second girl's state tennis championship in the school's history. She won the Girl's 18's 2019 Level 3 Intermountain Closed Fall Championship in singles and is a recipient of the Margaret Rogers Phipps Sportsmanship Award.

"Meghan [Kelley] and I are excited to welcome Lucy to the program next Fall!" said head coach Catrina Thompson. "We see a lot of potential and are looking forward to continuing to help develop Lucy's game."
