Gophers Add Danilchenko to 2021-22 Roster

The Moscow, Russia native is the third member of the Gophers' 2021 recruiting class

The University of Minnesota women's tennis team is excited to announce that Anfisa Danilchenko (Moscow, Russia) will join the Gophers for the 2021-22 season.

Danilchenko attended a distance learning academy in Argentina while competing on the junior tennis circuit. The Moscow native reached an ITF junior ranking of 205. Her highest WTA ranking in singles is 1,180 and 1,163 in doubles. The 19-year-old won ITF Junior Grade 4 in singles and reached the quarterfinals on ITF Junior Grade 2. 

Danilchenko excelled in doubles on the ITF Junior circuit. Her accomplishments in doubles play includes being a finalist on ITF Junior Grade 1, winning ITF Junior Grade 4 doubles twice and reaching three finals on ITF Junior Grade 3 doubles. 

Danilchenko will join Maria Rizzolo and Lucy Lu in the Gophers' 2021 recruiting class. 

"We are excited to announce that Anfisa Danilchenko will be joining the program this Fall," said head coach Catrina Thompson. "We are looking forward to working with Anfisa soon and having her contribute to our team this coming season."
