Gophers Named ITA All-Academic Team, Five Players Named Scholar-Athletes

Along with the team honor, Rachel Hanford, Zeyneb Sarioglan, Ekin Ercetin, River Hart and Juliet Zhang were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
MINNEAPOLIS - The International Tennis Association announced the 2021 Division 1 Women ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams on Monday with five Gophers taking home individual honors on top of the team earning All-Academic honors.
The University of Minnesota achieved All-Academic status for the fourth consecutive season. In order to achieve this, the team must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above. Five Gophers were also honored by the ITA as Scholar-Athletes - Rachel Hanford, Zeyneb Sarioglan, Ekin Ercetin, River Hart and Juliet Zhang. Each athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year.
Recent graduate River Hart earned Scholar-Athlete honors during each of her four years with the Gophers, Ekin Ercetin achieved honors for the second straight year, while Juliet Zhang, Rachel Hanford and Zeyneb Sarioglan earned individual ITA academic honors for the first time.
