Five Women's Golf Athletes Named All-American Scholars

The group includes Grace Kellar, Grace Curran, Joanne Free, Annabelle Ackroyd, and Emma Carpenter
Grace Kellar, Grace Curran, Joanne Free, Annabelle Ackroyd, and Emma Carpenter were named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Tuesday.
To be eligible for this award, student athletes must demonstrate excellence in the classroom and on the golf course. Requirements include a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, and participation in over 50% of competitive rounds. It is known to be one of the most selective and prestigious awards in college athletics.
This marked the fourth straight year Kellar earned the accolade, while it was the second in a row for Curran and Ackroyd. Free had also previously won the award following the 2017-2018 season.
"I am so proud of our athletes being named WGCA Academic All-American. The standards for this award are some of the hardest of any association," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Our athletes work incredibly hard on the course and in the classroom, and these awards are a great recognition for their dedication. Go Gophers!"
