Gopher Softball Unveils 2021 Fall Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota softball head coach Piper Ritter announced Wednesday afternoon the Gophers 2021 fall schedule. Fans will have five different chances to see the Maroon and Gold in action this fall at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. Admission is free to all fall games.
The Gophers hit the dirt for a matchup with Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday, Sept. 18. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. with game two taking place at about 3:30 p.m. The Gophers will take a few weeks off before contests on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. The Gophers will play against Gopher Softball Alumni on Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. followed by a doubleheader with North Dakota on Oct. 2, with start times of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. A week later the U will host Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 9, with the first pitches coming at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The final fall matchup for the Maroon and Gold will be on Oct. 15 when the University of St. Thomas rolls into Jane Sage Cowles Stadium.
Minnesota closed out the 2021 season with a 31-13 overall record, finishing in second place in the Big Ten. The Gophers reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth-straight time and the 15th time in school history.
