PFF Ranked Schmitz as the No. 56 Player in College Football in 2021

Gopher center will be a preseason favorite for the 2022 Rimington Award
PFF recently releases its list of the top 101 players from this past college season and one Gopher was honored. Center John Michael Schmitz, who recently announced he was returning to Minnesota for the 2022 season, was ranked No. 56 on PFF's list.
Here's what PFF had to say about Schmitz, who will be a preseason favorite for the 2022 Rimington Award.
56. C JOHN MICHAEL SCHMITZ, MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS
Schmitz has been one of the more under-the-radar offensive linemen in the Big Ten over the past few years, and this season was his best yet. His 88.1 PFF grade ranked third-best among FBS centers. The Golden Gopher earned an 87.5 run-blocking grade while not allowing a single sack or hit in pass protection.

On top of that, this has nothing to do with each player's pro potential, as we are looking solely at the top performers at each position.
