Vetter Snags Second Consecutive WCHA Weekly Honor

The reigning WCHA Goaltender of the Week adds a WCHA Rookie of the Week honor following a career-high 29-save win over Minnesota State.
MINNEAPOLIS – Freshman goaltender Skylar Vetter has been selected as WCHA Rookie of the week following her career-high 29-save victory over Minnesota State on Friday, Jan. 14.
Vetter earns her first WCHA Rookie of the Week honor after stopping 29 of 31 shots in the 7-2 victory over Minnesota State. Vetter earns her second straight conference weekly honor after being named last week's goaltender of the week. The Lakeville, Minn., native is 5-2-0 with a 1.66 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in her first year with the Gophers. This is the Gophers' third WCHA Rookie of the Week honor this season after Emily Zumwinkle and Peyton Hemp – who took home the honor last week. Vetter becomes the sixth goaltender in program history to earn the honor joining Jody Horak, Amanda Leveille, Jenny Lura, Noora Räty, and Brenda Reinen.
No. 5 Minnesota is set to host top-ranked Wisconsin this weekend. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday and 4:00 p.m. CT on Saturday at Ridder Arena.
