Set Breakdown:
Set 1: Minnesota scored three of the first four points, getting the first kill from Taylor Landfair. Purdue would respond by scoring six of the next seven to take a 7-4 lead before two more kills from Landfair helped the 'U' tie it at seven. The Gophers would take back the lead at 9-8 after a solo block and a kill from Naya Gros. The Boilermakers retook the lead with a 7-3 run to take a 15-12 advantage into the media break. A service error by PU helped the 'U' cut the lead to 15-13 before the Boilermakers scored four of the next five to take a 19-14 lead and force a timeout from coach McCutcheon. PU kept its lead steady for the next six points as Minnesota could get no closer than four before taking its final timeout of the set, trailing 22-17. A kill from Mckenna Wucherer, a block from Ellie Husemann and an attacking error from PU helped the 'U' cut the lead to 22-20, forcing a timeout from the visitors. Landfair's sixth kill cut the lead to one at 22-21, before PU scored the next two to go up 24-21. A kill from Landfair and a ball handling error got the 'U' back in it at 24-23, causing another timeout from PU. A block from Gros and Jenna Wenaas tied it at 24 apiece. The Gophers would cap their 10-3 run with a pair of PU attacking errors to win, 27-25. Landfair led the way with eight kills while Gros and Wucherer had four each. Minnesota hit .233 compared to .115 for the Boilermakers for the set.

Set 2: Purdue came out hot in set two, scoring five of the first six to take an early lead. A kill from Wenaas and a block from Ellie Husemann helped the 'U' cut the lead to one at 5-4. Purdue would respond with a run of its own, tallying four of the next six to go up 10-5 and force a Minnesota timeout. PU would go up 13-6 after scoring three of the first four in the second set before a 4-0 run by the Gophers cut the lead to three at 13-10. Three PU errors and an ace from McGraw sparked the spurt. The Boilermakers then called their first timeout of the set. The PU lead swung between three and four points before a kill from Eva Hudson and a Landfair attacking error put the visitors up 19-14 and forced another Minnesota timeout. PU would go up as many as seven at 22-15 before the Gophers mounted a late-set rally. Four straight Minnesota points, paced by a kill from Melani Shaffmaster, sliced the lead to 22-19 and forced a Purdue timeout. The Gophers would cut it to one at 24-23 before a block from Purdue clinched the set, 25-23. Purdue hit .205 for the set, compared to .133 for Minnesota.

Set 3: Kills from Arica Davis and Wucherer combined with an ace from Shaffmaster put the Gophers up 4-2 early on. PU would tie it up at 4-4 before a 4-1 Minnesota run put the home team up 8-5. Lauren Crowl tallied her first kill of Big Ten play while Davis and Landfair combined for a block. After one more point from the Boilers, kills from Gros and Landfair and an ace from Crowl put the 'U' up 11-6 and forced a Purdue timeout. The Boilers would cut the lead to three at 13-10, but a 5-1 Gophers explosion gave the home team a commanding 18-11 lead and forced a timeout from the opposition. Crowl, Shaffmaster and Wucherer totaled kills in the run. Purdue would fight back, however, scoring seven of the next 11 to cut Minnesota's advantage to five at 23-18. PU capped an 8-1 run with three more points after the break to slice the lead to three at 23-21, forcing another Minnesota timeout. A kill from Gros and an attack error from PU helped the Gophers close out the set, 25-22, to go up two sets to one. Minnesota hit .308 in the set compared to .209 for PU. Wucherer led the 'U' with five kills while McGraw had six digs.

Set 4: It was a back and forth start to the set, with no team leading by more than two points through the first 18 points. Minnesota took its first two-point lead at 10-8 after kills from Crowl and Landfair and a block from Gros and Shaffmaster. Another block from Gros and Wucherer put the 'U' up 12-9 before two straight PU points cut the lead to one at 12-11.
