Gophers Close Out the Marquette Intercollegiate

River Hills, Wis. – The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished the Marquette Intercollegiate in 10th place with a three-round score of 293-293-297—874. Ben Warian snagged the only eagle of the tournament for the Gophers in the third round.
With a three-round score of 283-288-274—845, Auburn placed 1st in the tournament.
Quotable:
"Proud of how our guys competed today. We executed much better tee to green today," said coach Justin Smith. "Really proud of Lincoln Johnson and his T10 finish in the tournament. This is something that he can really build on heading into the remainder of our fall events."
Notable:
Antoine Sale wrapped up the event by going two-over par (72), earning three birdies in the final round. He tied for 24th with a three-round score of 71-73-72—216.
Junior Ben Warian tallied two birdies and an eagle on his way to a third-round score of two-under par (68), the best individual round for the Gophers. He ended with a three-round score of 75-74-68—217 and in a tie for 30th.
Graduate student Jacob Pedersen capped off the tournament with three birdies in the final round, guiding him to a score of two-over par (72). His three-round score of 74-73-72—219 ranked 42nd in the tournament.
Freshman Jack Wetzel put together another score of three-over par (73), logging two birdies in the last round and recording a three-round score of 73-79-73—225. He tied for 71st.
Connor Glynn completed the tournament with a score of four-over par (74), going at par from holes 14 through 18 in the third round. He notched a three-round score of 79-73-74—226 and tied for 74th in the Marquette Intercollegiate.
Lincoln Johnson, who competed as an individual, earned a three-round score of 68-72-74—214, putting him in a tie for 10th in the tournament.

The Maroon and Gold will travel to Fairfax, Calif. to compete in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational from Oct. 10 – Oct. 11.
