Maroon and Gold Set to Begin the Alister Mackenzie Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota men's golf team starts the Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Sonoma, Calif. tomorrow. The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 10 – Oct. 11.
The Alister Mackenzie Invitational is a 54-hole event with two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. The action commences tomorrow, Oct. 10, with a shotgun start at 6 a.m CST. On Oct. 11, the third round will also begin at 6 a.m. CST.

Lineup:
Minnesota's lineup will consist of junior Ben Warian, senior Antoine Sale, graduate Jacob Pedersen, graduate Lincoln Johnson, and senior Harrison Arnold. Sophomore Bennett Swavely will participate as an individual.
The Field:
The Maroon and Gold will compete with Cal – Berkeley, Dartmouth, Drexel, Harvard, Long Beach State, San Jose State, UC Santa Barbara, and Santa Clara.
The Course:
In 1920, the president of the California Golf Association explored locations to build a golf course in the Sonoma Valley. Ultimately, they decided on the site of what is now the Sonoma Golf Club. It is regarded as a course that tests all levels of play and as a classic course from the Golden Age of Golf Course Architecture.
Looking Ahead:
Following the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, the Gophers will travel to Windermere, Fla. for the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational from Oct. 23 – Oct. 25.
