Tomorrow's U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Faceoff Classic is set to take place in front of a sellout crowd at Andover Community Center.

MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 1 Golden Gopher women's hockey team will face St. Cloud State University in the 2022 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Faceoff Classic at 7:00 pm on Monday night at Andover Community Center.

Taming the Bulldogs
The Gophers are one day removed from completing a series sweep over No. 5 Minnesota Duluth at Ridder Arena. Minnesota secured their first overtime victory since 2019 after Taylor Heise scored 15 seconds into the extra period to secure the 3-2 win on Friday night. The Maroon and Gold jumped out to a four-goal lead after two periods on Saturday and cruised to a 5-3 victory to sweep the Bulldogs for the first time since Nov. 27-28, 2020. Minnesota improved to 9-0-1 while UMD fell to 7-5-0 on the season.

Since The Last Meeting
After Minnesota's home-and-home sweep over St. Cloud State (6-6-0) on Oct. 21-22, the Huskies have won four straight games with sweeps over Bemidji State and St. Thomas. SCSU has outscored its opponents 13-2 in that span. The Huskies remain the only team this season to score first in a contest against the Gophers (Oct. 22). Minnesota has won 23 straight games against St. Cloud State and has not lost since 2010.

The Hall of Fame Game
Last November, Minnesota defeated St. Cloud State 5-1 in the 2021 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Faceoff Classic at Ridder Arena. Emily Brown, Gracie Ostertag, Abigail Boreen, Emily Oden and Crystalyn Hengler scored in that contest. The last time the event was played at a neutral sight, the Gophers defeated Minnesota State 4-0 at Dakotah! Ice Center in Prior Lake, Minn., on Dec. 7, 2019. This year's edition in Andover is slated to be played in front of a sellout crowd.
