Gophers in the Pros: Midseason Update

13 #Gophers are currently competing professionally across four different leagues.
MINNEAPOLIS – 13 Golden Gopher women's hockey alumnae are competing professionally across three leagues during the 2022-23 season. Four Gophers are competing in the PHF, six in the PWHPA, one in the SDHL in Sweden and one in the Naisten Liiga in Finland.
Sydney Baldwin, Olivia Knowles, Amanda Leveille and Patti Marshall are 10 games into the 2022-23 season with the Minnesota Whitecaps of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Knowles, Minnesota's all-time leader in games played, has a goal and an assist in her first season of professional hockey. Marshall, who is in her second season with the Whitecaps, is tied for first in the PHF in points by a defender with 9 (2g-7a) in 10 games. Leveille has started all 10 games in her fifth season with the club. The Whitecaps currently sit in third place in the PHF with a 4-4-2 record.Â
Hannah Brandt, Emily Brown, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek, Sarah Potomak, Sydney Scobee and Lee Stecklein have been competing in the Dream Gap Tour across the United States and Canada in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). In her first season of professional hockey, Emily Brown has tallied one assist in nine games. Stecklein leads all defenders with 10 points (2g-8a) in 9 games and ranks third among all players in scoring.Â
Lauren Bench is currently in her first season of professional hockey with MoDo Hockey in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). Bench, who ranks second in program history in saves-per-game and eighth in save percentage, has a 10-6-0 record with a 2.16 GAA and a .922 Sv% in 16 starts.
Noora Räty is currently in her second season with HPK Kiekonaiset in the Naisten Liiga (NSML). Räty currently has a 3-3-0 record with 1.74 GAA and a .935 Sv% in her tenth season of professional hockey after graduating from Minnesota.Â
