Gopher Athletics and Cambria announced today a new 10-year partnership that will showcase the Cambria logo on the playing surface at historic Williams Arena. The agreement will start on Feb. 17, 2022, when the Minnesota women's team hosts Rutgers and will run through the 2031-32 seasons.
"We are excited to once again partner with Cambria and expand our relationship with a globally recognized Minnesota-based company," said Director of Athletics Mark Coyle. "Cambria has been a tremendous supporter of Gopher Athletics and this relationship will have a positive impact on our entire athletic department. We look forward to another successful partnership with Cambria and are thankful for their significant gift to Gopher Athletics."
Cambria, which is based in Le Sueur, Minn., is the leading American-made producer of quartz surfaces. In August 2021, Gopher Athletics and Cambria announced a separate 10-year partnership for Cambria to sponsor existing club space at Huntington Bank Stadium. The result is the stunning Club Cambria, which is an energetic and modern 20,000-square foot space that has become the central location for premium seat holders at Gopher football games.
Cambria was also a key supporter in bringing football back to campus in 2009, donating Cambria products throughout the stadium. The Davis family, under their Davis Family Dairies enterprise, also partnered in affiliation with the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine dating back to 2008. Cambria and Davis Family Dairy owners, Mitch Davis and Marty Davis, are both graduates of the University of Minnesota.
"We have supported the University of Minnesota for many years, and we are proud to continue these efforts with this partnership at Williams Arena," said Carol Olson, Executive Vice-President/Chief Marketing Officer of Cambria. "Sports is the ultimate connector and offers a fantastic platform for us to continue to share our brand with consumers, both locally and nationally. We are excited to have a prominent presence at Williams Arena and will be cheering on the Gophers for years to come."
Cambria has been a supporter of Gopher Athletics venue development during the last 20 years with projects that include Huntington Bank Stadium—developing custom maroon and gold quartz surfaces for many of the premium areas; renovations to Bierman Athletic Building and Athletes Village—including Cambria surfaces featured throughout state-of-the-art training facilities, dining areas, and offices; and ongoing collaboration with projects to keep historic buildings sleek and modern such as Williams Arena, 3M Arena at Mariucci, and other University-owned-and-operated facilities on campus.
