Huber Caps Off Debut Season as National Rookie of the Month

Forward Ella Huber was named the nation's best rookie in the month of March by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Friday morning.
MINNEAPOLIS – Freshman forward Ella Huber has been named March's National Rookie of the Month by the HCA (Hockey Commissioners Association) on Friday morning.
The rookie from Northfield, Ill., finished the season strong by tallying one of Minnesota's eight goals in the month of March. Her goal against Ohio State in the WCHA Final Faceoff title game was her first career postseason goal. Huber added 11 shots, three blocks, and four faceoff wins to close out her first season in Maroon and Gold on a high note. She is the first Gopher to win National Rookie of the Month and second to earn a national monthly honor after Taylor Heise was named National Player of the Month in November and February.
Huber, a member of the WCHA All-Rookie Team, finished her debut season with nine goals and 12 assists in 39 games. She finished with a plus-14 rating and scored once on the power-play and short-handed.
