College Gym News Tabs Minnesota Junior as the Best Gymnastics Communications Director in the Nation
University of Minnesota Athletic Communications Student Assistant Sadie Keller was named the Sports Information Director of the Year by College Gym News today.
Keller, who is a junior in the Carlson School of Management, was recognized as the best in the nation by the editors at College Gym News. She received the most votes out of a nominee pool that consisted of media relation standouts in Andy Studdlefield (Iowa State), Brandon Berrio (LSU), Kendra Willard (Auburn), Maddie Heaps (Stanford), Madysen White (Utah), Megan McIntosh (Michigan) and Tim Geer (Brown).
Keller worked with the program the last two seasons and served as the primary media relations contact for Minnesota's record-setting gymnastics team. She handled interview requests, wrote feature stories, managed the team's social media channels and updated GopherSports.com all while also staying attentive to the media's needs.
Keller, who will graduate from Minnesota in 2023, is currently a full-time intern in the communications office with the Minnesota Twins. She previously was the communications lead for both golf programs at Minnesota and has completed prior internships with the minor league baseball team Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the Northwoods League's Eau Claire Express and Duluth Huskies.
