Minnesota's Big Ten opponents for next year are revealed

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The conference opponents for the 2027 Gopher women's gymnastics season have been announced by the Big Ten.

Minnesota will host conference home matches against Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State in 2027. They'll visit Iowa, Rutgers and UCLA for road meets. In the Big 4, they'll travel to Michigan State to compete with the Spartans, Illinois and Maryland.

The full schedule, including non-conference opponents, dates and times, will be released later this fall.

As a team, Minnesota posted a school record 30 wins (30-13, 7-2 B1G) and finished a program-best fourth place at nationals, making the First Four on the Floor in school history. The team made the NCAA Regional Finals for the fifth time in the last six seasons (one of just two Big Ten teams to do so) and finished a program-best fourth in the Road to Nationals final rankings.

Key returners for Minnesota include Big Ten Freshman of the Year and All-American Arianna Ostrum along with the 2026 NCAA Balance Beam Champion, Brooklyn Rowray

The Golden Gophers made nationals for the seventh time in program history in 2026, including the third time in the past six seasons. Minnesota and UCLA are the only Big Ten schools to make nationals three times since 2021.

The Gophers finished second behind only UCLA in the conference standings and won their Big 4 Meet at Maturi Pavilion, topping Michigan State, Illinois and Rutgers. Minnnesota earned a 9-1 home, 3-3 away and 18-9 neutral site record.
