DenHartog, Pease Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

MINNEAPOLIS - A pair of Minnesota seniors were named to the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Softball Team it was announced Thursday as Natalie DenHartog and Autumn Pease landed the prestigious award. It is the second-consecutive year that both student-athletes earned the honor.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced in June.
 
DenHartog, pursuing a master's degree in organizational leadership, policy, and development, was recently named to the All-Big Ten Team for the third-straight season. She has a team-best 18 home runs, setting a new career high, and broke the Golden Gophers career home run record along the way. The Hopkins, Minn., native ranks 13th in the nation in total long balls and is 28th recording 118 total bases with a 1.154 OPS, while starting all 51 games in center field. DenHartog holds a .340 batting average, stole 14 bases in 14 attempts and scored a team-leading 48 runs this season. She also was named an Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award honoree in 2021.
 
Pease leads Minnesota with a 4.15 earned run average and appeared in 38 of the team's 51 games played, picking up 11 wins, including a two-hit shutout of Drake. A kinesiology major, she ranks in the top 20 in the nation totaling four saves this year and ranks 83rd with 150 strikeouts in 151.2 innings of work. She set a career high striking out 10 on the road at Grand Canyon and again fanned 10 in just four innings of a rivalry win over Wisconsin. The senior from Murrieta, Calif., Pease was selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team a year ago, while also landing on the Academic All-Big Ten team.
