Kaiser to Represent Team USA at IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship

Incoming freshman forward Madison Kaiser (Ham Lake, Minn.) will compete for the Red, White, and Blue from June 6-13 in Madison, Wis.
MINNEAPOLIS – Madison Kaiser, a member of Minnesota's 2022-23 freshmen class, will represent the United States at the 2022 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship from June 6-13 in Madison, Wis.
The tournament will take place at LaBahn Arena on the campus of the University of Wisconsin and Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena after initially being scheduled to be played in Sweden in January. The roster and coaching staff are the same as originally announced in October.
A left-handed forward from Ham Lake, Minn., Kaiser will join the Gophers from Holy Family Catholic High School. Prior to her time at Holy Family, Kaiser played for Andover High School. With the Huskies, she won the 2019 MSHSL state title alongside current Gopher Peyton Hemp. Kaiser was a member of the U.S. women's U18 team in 2021 and was named captain at Holy Family for her senior season.
Kaiser is the 14th current Gopher to represent the United States at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championships. Next season, she will join Taylor Heise, Peyton Hemp, Crystalyn Hengler, Ella Huber, Abbey Murphy, Maggie Nicholson, Emily Oden, Gracie Ostertag, Makayla Pahl, Catie Skaja, Audrey Wethington, Madeline Wethington, Skylar Vetter, and Grace Zumwinkle as current Gophers who have represented the Red, White and Blue. Team USA has won six of the last seven gold medals.
Team USA kicks off pre-camp from May 30 – June 4 at the National Sports Center Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The United States opens play on June 6 with a preliminary round matchup against Sweden. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. CT at LaBahn Arena.
