MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Isabella McCauley was named 2022 Ms. Minnesota Golf on June 12 at an event in Independence, Minn., at which University of Minnesota men's golf head coach Justin Smith was the keynote speaker.

The Mr. and Ms. Minnesota Golf award was created in 2016, awarded to one male and one female high school senior based on performance on the golf course, academic achievement, and strength of character. Winning Mr. Minnesota Golf alongside McCauley was Nate Stevens of Northfield.

On her road to qualifying for the state tournament as an individual, McCauley never finished worse than second in an event this season. She also medaled 10 times throughout the season.

The Simley High School senior missed the Minnesota state championship in 2021, but only because she was the youngest Minnesotan to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open. She barely missed the cut at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

She was the No. 1 ranked high school girls' player in the state in 2021, the same year that she reached the round of 32 at the U.S. Girls Junior Championship. McCauley also claimed a top-15 finish at the 2021 National Jr PGA competition, and she won the 2019 and 2020 Jr PGA Section Championship.

Next up, McCauley will cap off her high school career at the Minnesota State 3AAA Tournament on June 14-15. After that, she will make her way to the University of Minnesota later in the summer to begin her freshman year.
