Minnesota Releases Full 2022 Soccer Schedule

2022 Schedule
MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota soccer has released its full 2022 schedule featuring 18 total matches, half at home and half on the road, in head coach Erin Chastain's second year leading the program. The slate includes contests against five teams that reached the NCAA Championships a season ago, all of which advanced to at least the second round.
The Golden Gophers will play a pair of exhibition contests starting Aug. 8 when they head to nearby St. Thomas and then will host Iowa State Aug. 12 in the final chance to prepare for opening day.
Minnesota's regular season begins away from home as it travels to Texas to face two teams from the Big 12 Conference opening Aug. 18 at Baylor. The road swing ends Aug. 21 against TCU, a team that reached the third round of last year's NCAA tournament.
The Maroon & Gold's home opener is scheduled for Aug. 25 with a Thursday night tilt versus Cal Poly before a long trip to Starkville, Miss., for a matchup with the Bulldogs of Mississippi State Aug. 28.
September brings six chances to see the Gophers live at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium beginning Sept. 1 in the second of back-to-back outings against the Bulldogs, this time coming from Drake. A quick trip to Grand Forks, N.D., to battle North Dakota is on the docket for Sept. 4 before a stretch where five of the next six outings are at home. Minnesota faces Omaha and Marquette to close the non-conference portion of the schedule Sept. 8 and 11, respectively.
The 10-match Big Ten Conference slate, which was officially announced in February, gets underway with a road tilt at Nebraska Sept. 16 before the first league test at home Sept. 22 against Indiana. The last home game will be Oct. 20 as the Maroon & Gold hosts Purdue, while the regular season finale is booked for Oct. 23 at Illinois.
The B1G Tournament is set for Oct. 30 to Nov. 6 with the higher seed hosting throughout the eight-team event with an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships on the line.
