MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday morning that sophomore Ben Warian has been named a 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar. 440 NCAA Division I athletes from 157 schools were given the honors.

The honor is given to sophomores, juniors and seniors both academically and athletically that participated in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, had a stroke average under 76.0, and maintained a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.

Warian adds this honor to an accomplished summer and successful 2021-22 season. In early May, he was named a 2022 Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree, and on June 3 he was one of four Gophers that earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. The Stillwater, Minn. native played in ten tournaments during the 2021-22 season, totaling 30 rounds played. He led the team in stroke average at 72.83, as well as rounds under par with seven. His best tournament finish was tied for ninth at the Boilermaker Invitational on April 9-10.
