The event, which is taking place at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium, has a capacity of 38,000 and has hosted events such as the Pan American Games, Copa America, FIFA U20 World Cup, World Games and World Athletics U18 Championships. In Trinidad & Tobago, Augustine posted a personal best time of 10.32 in the semis of the 100m before finishing with a 10.38 in the final to qualify himself for the U20 World Championships. Augustine, who was limited during the collegiate outdoor season in the 100m, impressively dropped his time from his debut back in mid-May at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships where he finished 24th.
